At St Luke’s, we seek deep partnerships with our Major Mission Partners.

These Partners help us: learn about, pray for & resource response to real human needs.

Through our trusted partners we seek to respond  at the national and near international neighbour horizons.

Today we are privileged to begin a relationship with a new Major Partner – Nungalinya College Darwin, a training centre for indigenous Christian leaders, based in Darwin. In our broadcast we will hear from the Principal of the College, Dr Ben van Gelderen. We will hear also from a number of students about the impact of the College in their lives and ministries.

Today we will be launching an Appeal for the College.

We will also be inviting you to take up a subscription to the Nungalinya newsletter, to fuel your prayers for the College.

The below links will provide more information about the College, including registration to receive their eNews and Prayer Points, and access to their recent Annual Reports.

Reflection Questions

1. Read Ephesians 2.11-22. What Gospel truths in this passage give new power for healing in communities where racial divisions exist?

2. In what way is the power of the sacrifice of Christ displayed, when indigenous and non-indigenous Australians find ways to express Christian unity?

3. As you consider your own journey of faith and repentance, where have you seen Jesus:

(i) affirm and agree with the values of your family or community?

(ii) critique or challenge the values of your family or community?

(iii) redeem and liberate those captive the false values in your family or community?

4. Spend some time praying that Nungalinya would continue to empower indigenous leaders to affirm what Jesus affirms, challenge what Jesus wants to challenge, and offer spiritual freedom and redemption where there is spiritual slavery in communities up north.
