Acts Series: Part 8. The conversion of an Ethiopian Leader
This Sunday we consider the next episode of Philip’s ministry, and observe Jesus lay down another stepping-stone to world-wide mission. Who does Philip encounter on the road leading south from Jerusalem, through Gaza and into Egypt but a high official from the upper Nile (Acts 8.26-40). An African man who has converted to Judaism, returning from a pilgrimage to the Temple. By the end of this episode he will not need to return to the Temple again, instead taking Christ and his Spirit with him into a new continent: Africa. Today we consider two lines of application for our lives: (i) the Mission of Jesus pushes out into the world, so lets share Jesus in our worlds; (ii) there are many questions, but the answer is always Jesus.
